#5. Q: How many Polytechnics are there in Singapore?
A: There are five polytechnics in Singapore managed by the Ministry of Education. They are Singapore Polytechnic (SP), Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP), Temasek Polytechnic (TP), Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP) and Republic Polytechnic (RP).

#6. Q: I am an IGCSE graduate (or Myanmar High School graduates). Can I directly apply to Government University in Singapore?
A: No. Student must be 18 years old and above and completed 12-year education by the time he/she applies to Government University in Singapore.

#7. Q: Does IGCSE graduate need to sit for Polytechnic entrance exam?
A: No. IGCSE graduate can apply directly to Government Polytechnics in Singapore without having to take the entrance exam.

#8. Q: Does BEHS student need to sit for Polytechnic entrance exam?
A: Yes. Myanmar High School graduate has to take the entrance exam to study at Government Polytechnics in Singapore.

#9. Q: How can I apply to Polytechnics in Singapore?
A: International students have to apply through the Direct Admissions Exercise (DAE).

You will be prepared academically in English, Mathematics and Physics for 400 hours to pass the entrance exam and gain entry into the Polytechnic.

A: This programme is especially designed for those who achieved flying color marks in University Entrance examination (Myanmar High School examination) and want to apply to Government Polytechnics in Singapore. A: Yes. You can do part-time job for 16 hours per week.

A: Polytechnics in Singapore have various sorts of disciplines such as Business, Engineering, IT, Nursing, Built & Environment, Art and Design, etc. You are demanded to choose subject which is relevant to your previous studies.

#18. Q: Can I study Civil Engineering in Singapore?
A: Yes. You can studying either at Polytechnics or at BCA Academy depending on your high school result.

A: BCA Academy is the education and training arm of the Building and Construction Authority (BCA), Singapore. It is recognized by Ministry Of Education as a Government-affiliated educational institute that offers construction specific programmes in Singapore. Its diplomas are internationally recognized to pursue Bachelor’s Degree as well as provide you good career prospects.

#20. Q: What can I study at BCA Academy?
A: BCA Academy offers the following 3-year diplomas for coming October intake.

  • Diploma in Construction Engineering (Full-time).
  • Diploma in Digital Engineering (Full-time).
  • Diploma in Quantity Surveying (Full-time).

#22. Q: How can I apply to BCA Academy?
A: Depending on your choice of diploma, you will be required to take the Admission Screening Test. If you choose Diploma in Construction Engineering, you will need to take the test for English and Mathematics or English and Reasoning Screening Test for Diploma in Digital Engineering or Diploma in Quantity Surveying. On the other hand, you can join Engineering Pre-Diploma Programme developed by BCA Academy RVi Institute and progress into the Year 1 of Diploma programme at BCA Academy.

On the other hand, our IGCSE graduates will be considered for admission on a case by case basis. It means that they may be asked to take the test or get a direct entry without having to take the test.

#23. What is Engineering Pre-Diploma Foundation Programme?
A: This Programme is developed by BCA Academy and it is a solid foundation to continue studying diploma programmes at BCA Academy without having to take BCA AST. It is suitable for those who wants to pursue Engineering starting from foundation, who do not pass the BCA AST or do not get direct entry into BCA Academy’s Diploma programmes, Myanmar High School Grade 10 students or Myanmar High School graduates and Secondary (3) graduates from International schools. The duration of the programme is (600) hours.

#24. Q: I am interested in Business and wants to learn from foundation level. Which programme should I study?
A: If you are interested in Business and wants to start from foundation, RVi Institute offers Foundation Diploma in Management Studies programme which is validated by SIM Global Education in Singapore. The programme delivers fundamentals of Business Studies. You will be able to learn (5) Business Academic modules which are also taught at Management Foundation Studies programme offered by SIM GE. In other words, FDMS programme is the same foundation programme with Management Foundation Studies programme at SIM GE. After this programme, you will be able to pursue diploma programme at SIM Global Education and degrees awarded by prestigious international university through SIM Global Education.
